How to say “What’s the address?” in Russian

Asking is one word. Understanding the answer means knowing the order Russians say it in.

The order

Russian goes from big to small: city, street, building, entrance, flat. Москва́, у́лица Ле́нина, дом 5, подъе́зд 2, кварти́ра 48. Written short: ул. Ле́нина, д. 5, кв. 48.

Street names decline

На у́лице Ле́нина — on Lenin Street, with the street name in the genitive because it is “the street of Lenin”. Names that are adjectives agree instead: на Тверско́й у́лице. Both patterns are common and both are worth recognising.
