Yes/no question: same word order, rising intonation. Ты до́ма? Information question: start with a question word — кто, что, где, куда́, когда́, почему́, как, ско́лько.

Note the pair где / куда́: English uses “where” for both, Russian keeps being somewhere and going somewhere apart.
Question words also take cases

О чём вы говори́те?What are you talking about? — prepositional
Yes/no questions
Ты говори́шь по-ру́сски?Do you speak Russian?

No “do”, no inversion — only intonation. In writing, the question mark does the whole job.
Typical mistakes
Где ты идёшь?
Куда́ ты идёшь?
Movement needs куда́.
Де́лаешь ты что?
Что ты де́лаешь?
The question word comes first.
