How to say “Can you take a photo?” in Russian

A long word, but the whole request is one imperative plus пожа́луйста.

Ещё одну́, пожа́луйста.One more, please.
Спаси́бо большо́е!Thank you very much!

The two versions

The short imperative Сфотографи́руйте нас, пожа́луйста is perfectly polite and much easier to say. The longer Мо́жно попроси́ть вас… is more deferential, and useful to recognise even if you never produce it.

Note попроси́ть

Asking someone *to do* something is попроси́ть plus an infinitive: попроси́ть вас помо́чь. Asking a question is спроси́ть. This is the same pair that trips learners up elsewhere, and photos are where it comes up on holiday.

If they offer

Russians will often take several and show you the result: Так хорошо́? — is this all right? Answer Да, отли́чно, спаси́бо!. And Дава́йте я вас сфотографи́рую is an offer, not a request.

What you hear back

Коне́чно!Of course!
Так хорошо́?Is this all right?
Ещё раз?Once more?
Гото́во!Done!
