Душа́ and душе́вный

Russian talks about the душа́ (soul) in everyday speech, without any religious weight. Душе́вный ве́чер is a warm, open evening; душе́вный челове́к is someone you can talk to properly. It is one of the words Russians miss most in English.

Typical mistakes

Он есть до́брый.

Он до́брый.

No “is” in the present.

Она́ до́брый.

Она́ до́брая.

The adjective agrees in gender.
