Which form to learn first

Сади́тесь! — “take a seat”, what a host says. Note: not сиди́те, which means “stay where you are”.

Typical mistakes

Сиди́те, пожа́луйста! — inviting someone to sit

Сади́тесь, пожа́луйста!

сиди́те means “remain seated”, which sounds like an order.

The д becomes ж in the я form.
